Description

XAT-600M / HS1177 FPV Camera

Premium performance without the premium price! When it comes to high-speed drone racing or flying in rapidly changing lighting conditions, there is hardly a better choice of flight camera than the HS1177. Whether it’s a high stakes race on a challenging track or just having fun flying in and out of abandoned buildings and old warehouses, the HS1177 will provide superb performance regardless of the lighting conditions.

This amazing little 600 TVL camera has been designed around the widely successful ⅓” Sony Super HAD II CCD sensor and the Nextchip 2040 processor, allowing it to quickly adjust to extreme light changes while maintaining the low latency that is critical for fast FPV racing. At 12 grams it’s great for 250mm quads, and it has a plastic casing that’ll protect it during those high speed encounters with the ground that we all seem to have.

If you’re planning to build an ImpulseRC Alien frame, this is the camera for you. The camera mounts on all Alien frames are designed specifically to support this camera.

Pair it with the aftermarket Riot Lens to get the best FOV angle for freestyle!

    Speechless

Grabbed this one for my first quad. Man it is outstanding for the price. I have crashed so much and it's still pristine. Very happy with the camera, already order the rotor riot lense to get a bit more field. I recommend you order the rotor riot version instead though. You are going to want their lense.

    HS1177

I purposely ordered from Rotor Riot because they listed a bottom connector HS1177, but they sent me a top connector camera. I made it working be trading with another quad that had a bottom connector and also could take a top connector. As far as the HS1177, its a hard camera to beat.

Great camera it does ship with a 2.8mm lens it's very durable and for your first FPV cam it's bang for buck! I moved to a rotor riot run cam swift with 2.5mm.

Just switched to this camera from a cheap board cam. Love the adjustability, finally night flying is plausable.

    Great Camera

Originally, I picked up a RunCam Swift (which is also an HS1177 style FPV camera) to put in the Alien 5” build I was piecing together, but seeing as the back plate would not fit, I had to order something else. Being somewhat new to the build process but wanting something I KNEW would fit, so I picked up this particular camera as a replacement.

Shipping and handling from these guys has been consistently great so far. To date, I have ordered two packages on separate occasions from Rotor Riot—both arrived at my apartment in two days. All contained items were securely but neatly packaged to ensure no damage occurred en route.

Since I lack patience, my Alien 5” quad was totally assembled when I ordered the camera—it was the one part I was waiting for to complete my build. After getting the camera in the mail, I fitted the carbon fiber back-plate to the back and screwed it down using the screws found in the Alien kit. After that, the two black pieces on the rear plate that allow the camera angle to lock in place was screwed down—just be sure not to strip these parts because they are nylon. When that was finished, I pulled the top plate off, snipped the wires coming from the video transmitter, and soldered them to the ones coming from the camera and it was an instant success.

After plugging in a battery, the camera powered right up, as expected, and the video transmitter provided the opportunity to preview what the camera saw. Honestly, I expected to have to go in and change some parameters using the OSD, but everything went so nicely in the air, I haven’t had to touch the settings since I bought it. The images coming through on the Fat Shark Dominator 2-HD goggles I was using were crisp and clear—and the camera did a great job compensating for various types of lighting.

Even though in my case, no tinkering was needed, some tweaking or tuning by the end user using the OSD module may be necessary. However, the hardware itself is easy to install, is lightweight, and a perfect fit for the Alien 5” frame. From my experience, I highly recommend the XAT-600M / HS1177 FPV camera from Rotor Riot.

    good cam

I really like this camera. It is a little bit more bulky than some of my other cameras because of the case. All in all Good reception Very low latency. Couple of gripes ,,, The programming cable I feel like should be integrated With an exterior plug so you don't have to unmount your camera If you are on a tight frame. But compared to a cmos camera, it is great. It definitely changes light faster Less dark spots That is a good thing....

Mentioned above, make sure to pair this with the GoPro 2 Lens as Steele uses. Did notice too much of a difference but for just a few bucks on eBay, it defiantly makes it look cooler! Works just as good as many other cameras in my opinion but defiantly cant beat the price!
